Handbags for Work Interviews @ Friday, September 14, 2012 It's that time of the year again, when everyone Not being a girly girl that means I have 14 days to round up my make-up collection, ask Emily (the MUA) for recommendations, hopefully don't have to buy any make-up, buy an appropriate handbag and figure out transport (my ability to walk half a mile in heels is very limited). This week we're looking at handbags, I once sprained my shoulder from carrying a heavy CR style sport bag, not a handbag person, to me it's heavy (weight distribution) and isn't practical, I prefer a padded structured bag. The budget is $50, as I won't be using this as my daily bag, hence no need to invest too much, and it'll only be used on those occasions when I need to use a female friendly looking bag. We have two weeks max to get it, and so it can't be an import. Oh and it should be black, not too much detail, no glitter and needs to fit everything except my clipboard and lunch. I've found these three from Kate Hill, they're all black and $40. Ruby is the biggest being 43cm in length, 14cm width and 31cm in height. Has a strap for cross-body wear. Frida and Lily are both around 32x17x25 (lwh), wider on the side but not front on.

Which handbag do you use for your interview rounds?
September 11, 2001, a day we will never forget. @ Wednesday, September 12, 2012 “Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children. “ - President George W. Bush, November 11, 2001 "The attacks of September 11th were intended to break our spirit. Instead we have emerged stronger and more unified. We feel renewed devotion to the principles of political, economic, and religious freedom, the rule of law and respect for human life. We are more determined than ever to live our lives in freedom." - Rudolph Giuliani, former mayor of NYC "Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11." - President Barack Obama
Crabtree and Evelyn - Pomegranate Hand Therapy @ Wednesday, September 12, 2012
Pomegranate Argan & Grapeseed Hand Therapy
From the Crabtree & Evelyn website: Our intensive hand cream is blended with macadamia nut, pomegranate, grapeseed, and argan oils, moisturises and smoothes dry skin and leaves your hands feeling incredibly soft. Fragrance: The tart sweetness of pomegranate coupled with a burst of citrus and fresh fig leaf. Ingredients: Shea butter, macadamia nut, pomegranate, grapeseed, and argan oils moisturise and soothe hands, while myrrh helps condition cuticles and nails. Formulated without parabens, phthaletes, propylene glycol, and mineral oil. This seems to be C&E's latest addition to their collection, as they're promoting this as a GWP (gift with purchase), a classic handcream in a new scent with personality. The formula is like all their other hand therapies, not as creamy and rich as L’Occitane's but more of a watered down version of Jurlique's, with the first ingredient on the list being water. Liked - Scent, it comes in a variety of scents - Consistency - Non-greasy, can use keyboard almost right after Didn't like... - Thin aluminium tube, not bag friendly - Cap, needs full attention to be screwed on - Price $28/100ml or $20/50ml Summary: I'd recommend it, the only major drawback is the price, especially with the Evelyn Rose, as it only comes in the 100ml for $30. But for all the other scents they come in two sizes. Rating: 4/5 (-1 for the price) Here's the new link for the $10 voucher and free 25g handcream, it says Pomegranate, but MC is giving out the Citrus one, which is more male friendly. Conditions - Minimum purchase of $10.00 (doesn't say it has to be on one item) - Voucher can only be used once per customer (per store ;) - Subject to availability (as always) - Expires 30/9/2012 |
